Senior Director, Communications
Dinean Robinson is a seasoned communications leader and storyteller with a robust track record of driving strategic narrative, brand engagement, and mission-aligned impact for purpose-driven organizations. She joins Heron from The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center in New York City, where she served as the Senior Director of Communications & Marketing, leading efforts to elevate the organization’s voice, deepen community engagement, manage crisis, and amplify the stories of LGBTQ+ people across the region. Dinean’s career spans a range of roles in nonprofit communications and public relations. She previously held the position of Vice President of Communications at Multiplying Good (formerly The Jefferson Awards Foundation), where she strengthened brand positioning and media presence. Earlier in her career, she reshaped Teach For America New York’s messaging framework, built the public relations function for the African American Heritage Museum of Southern New Jersey, and was the founding publicist for Darnell L. Moore, writer, storyteller, and strategist. Across her work, she centers the needs and narratives of historically marginalized and under-represented communities. Dinean holds a BA in Communications from Seton Hall University and lives in New Jersey.
