Kelly Donnelly is a seasoned executive leader with more than 15 years of experience advancing equity-centered change across government, philanthropy, and political campaigns. She currently serves as Managing Director of Programs at The F.B. Heron Foundation, where she leads organizational transformation, oversees grantmaking strategy, and serves as board secretary. Previously, Kelly served as Director of Communications for New York State Attorney General Letitia James and as Deputy Chief of Staff and Communications Advisor to former Connecticut Governor Dannel P. Malloy. Her earlier career at the Connecticut State Department of Education—where she rose from Director of Communications to Chief of Staff—deepened her commitment to educational equity and community-informed practices. Before entering the public sector, Kelly worked in grassroots organizing and campaign management across Ohio, New York, and New Jersey. She holds a B.A. in Program of Liberal Studies from the University of Notre Dame.
