Retired (Former Managing Partner and Corporate Lawyer at Eaton Peabody law firm) Dan McKay practiced law for over 40 years at the Maine law firm of Eaton Peabody and served for 17 years as its’ managing partner. He concentrated his practice on the representation of business entities and financial institutions in a variety of transactional matters and served as general outside corporate counsel to clients of all sizes in a variety of business sectors, from high tech manufacturing and software to healthcare and banking. He regularly represented both borrowers and lenders in sophisticated commercial finance transactions and advised clients seeking to raise private equity. He also counseled clients in connection with corporate governance, antitrust, and Canadian American cross-border trade issues.

Dan served for eight years as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Maine Business School where he taught business law to M.B.A. candidates. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Maine Seacoast Mission, a Maine based nonprofit providing medical, community outreach, and youth development services to offshore islands and to challenged mainland communities in Down East Maine. He also chairs the Town of Mount Desert Community Development Corporation and several related entities that promote and support community sustainability initiatives on Maine’s Mount Desert Island.
